Hip hop artist and music producer Ryan Willis (also known as ryknow) performed at the New Deal Cafe. Karl Gary was there to photograph his performance, and Ryan Willis has used some of these photographs for promotional materials for his work.
Greenbelt Farmer’s Market
For the third year, Karl Gary was asked to be a staff photographer for the Greenbelt Farmer’s Market. Karl’s photographs are used on the market’s Web site, weekly newsletters, and promotional materials.

Oprah’s National No Phone Zone Day at the Newseum
Oprah Winfrey’s National No Phone Zone Day took place on April 30, 2010. The Washington, DC location for this event was the Newseum, and Karl Gary was asked to be the staff photographer. “Live from the Newseum” was a segment shown on the Oprah Winfrey Show, and the show was streamed on a jumbo screen inside the museum.
Gayle King, host of “The Gayle King Show” on Sirius XM radio, taped her show live from the Newseum during the event. Among King’s guests were transportation secretary Ray LaHood; DC Chief of Police Cathy Lanier; news anchor Leon Harris; and Jennifer Smith, founding director of FocusDriven. Karl’s photographs will be used by Harpo, Inc. to promote this and future events.

The Harley Family
Karl Gary had the pleasure of photographing the Harley family. Little David is just a couple months older than Karl’s daughter Emerson and they had a great time playing together after the shoot. We were thrilled to get the Harley’s holiday card in the mail a couple weeks later and see that they chose the picture below of David for the cover.
