Karl Gary was asked to be the staff photographer for the launch of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, a national, multi-year effort designed to help reduce obesity – especially childhood obesity – by 2015. The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation will promote ways to help people achieve a healthy weight through energy balance. It focuses on three critical areas – the marketplace, the workplace and schools. Over 40 retailers such as PepsiCo, General Mills, Inc., Nestle USA and The Coca-Cola Company joined forces and attended this launch.
The event took place at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Karl’s photographs from this event will be used on the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation’s Web site as well in many of their marketing and press materials.
